What is Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD) is the most common of all the anxiety disorders. It's a daily, persistent, chronic anxiety. It's not just everyday stress, it goes beyond that.

If you have GAD, you may also have anxiety attacks along with it, which is what I personally have. You can read my experience with this in the

"My Story" section. GAD is very manageable, though. It just takes some time to get to the cause of the anxiety and then figuring out what is the best treatment for you.

But you CAN learn to get it
under control if you put your mind to it!
It just takes patience and persistence to
find the right treatment for you, so don't give up!

And remember, the statistics say that one out of every 4 people have an anxiety disorder, so you are certainly not alone. That means in a group of 20 people, around 5 people will have some type of anxiety disorder.

The problem is that many don't talk about it because they are embarrassed or ashamed. But there is nothing to be embarrassed about. We are living in stressful times, especially with the economy being so difficult, among other things. It's a struggle NOT to have anxiety!

Trust me, I know how difficult it can be. You may at times want to give up, but just try one thing, if that doesn't work, go onto the next, and keep trying. I'm very confident you will find what works for you!

The most important thing you can do is to educate yourself on anxiety, that way you will know the different options that are available to you. I sincerely hope the information you find below will be helpful to you...
