The Beck Anxiety Inventory
And Other Anxiety Tests

The Beck Anxiety Inventory is an anxiety scale created by Dr. Aaron T. Beck along with other colleagues. I would have to say that this is definitely one of the more popular anxiety tests out there. It uses a numerical scale to rate your level of anxiety.

It consists of 21 questions that are designed to help you analyze your anxiety symptoms within the last week and you rate them on a scale from "not at all" to "severely". Then you add your score up at the end and it tells you if your anxiety is minimal or severe. The Beck Anxiety Inventory can be used for adolescents, adults, and even the elderly.

If you take it, though, you have to be honest with yourself and your symptoms. It is considered a "self report inventory". The only down side with these is that sometimes people downplay or exaggerate their symptoms, therefore don´t get an accurate assessment. So, if you decide to take it, be honest with yourself!

The Beck Anxiety Inventory is copyrighted and available for purchase online(at pearsonassessments.com). Dr. Beck also has other assessments to help with depression. The Beck Depression Inventory (for ages 13 and over) and Beck Hopelessness Scale (for ages 17 to 80) have been very helpful for those who deal with depression. (Source: Wikipedia.org )

If you aren´t able to purchase an anxiety scale, you can find one on this site also.  We offer several basic anxiety tests such as those listed below.

If you aren´t sure which type of anxiety disorder you have, read this brief description of the different types of anxiety disorders.

Now, remember, these are only for educational purposes, only a doctor can diagnose if you really have an anxiety disorder or not. Nonetheless, I hope these will be helpful to point you in the right direction:

Since I have had anxiety for years, I know that it can be very difficult and pretty scary to deal with sometimes. But it is possible to get it under control!! I have picked up several things over the years that have helped tremendously with my anxiety levels and I share my tips and suggestions in this anxiety self help section as well as these tips for panic attacks .

If you would prefer to go the natural route, I have also included a section for anti anxiety herbs.

Even if you and your doctor determine that you have to resort to taking a medicine, don´t be ashamed of that. Sometimes it´s necessary.

A diabetic is not ashamed of taking insulin, right?

Sometimes it's just a matter of educating yourself on how they work. So, if you would like to read a little about anxiety medicines and how they work, click on this section for anti anxiety medications.

So, whatever you do, don´t give up! You may not completely eliminate your anxiety, but there are things you can do to get it under control. You just have to keep trying until you find what works for you. I truly wish you the best in your endeavors! You can do this!!!
